Camp 1962 is names after Lt. George E. Dixon, and is Located in Belleville, Illinois. Below is a list of their officers and how to get in touch with them should you happen to live in their area, and wish to join the S.C.V.

The Lt. George E. Dixon Camp #1962 was chartered in January of 2002 in Belleville.  It was named after Lt. George E. Dixon, the commander of the ill-fated C.S.S. Hunley, the first submarine to successfully sink an enemy warship.  The camp serves the southwestern area of Illinois and has members mostly from the greater metro-east area around Belleville, O'Fallon and surrounding communities.  The camp is very active in public education activities and conducts several Confederate memorial ceremonies each year, including the annual Confederate Memorial Day ceremony at the Alton Confederate Cemetery in Alton, IL.  The camp is a Christian and family based group which seeks to honor our Confederate ancestors and the core values and traditions they left to us. We generally meet at 7 pm on the first Thursday evening of each month at the home of Gale Red in O'Fallon.  Person desiring specific directions should contact Gale at email: galered@yahoo.com or by calling (618) 622-8949
